Terms of Use

The short version
- Know the Plays turns a coach's video of a play into something a player can watch, get quizzed on, and run.
- A plan is for one player. It renews until you cancel, and you can cancel online anytime.
- A parent or guardian is in charge of the account for any player under 13.
- The coach decides what a play is. We work to match the coach's video, and we can get things wrong.
The rest of this page is the full agreement. Please read it.
1. Who this agreement is between
Know the Plays is a service of FalconEyes LLC ("we," "us"). These Terms are an agreement between you and FalconEyes LLC. By using knowtheplays.com, buying a plan, opening a team playbook, or reviewing plays as a coach, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
2. Who can use it
- Buying a plan. You must be 18 or older to buy a plan or agree to these Terms for a family.
- Players 13 and older may use the service. A player under 18 uses it with a parent or guardian's permission.
- Players under 13 use the service only through a parent or guardian, who sets it up and is responsible for how the player uses it. We don't let a child under 13 create an account.
- Coaches can review their own plays through a link, with no account.
3. Plans, renewal, and cancelling
What a plan covers. A family plan is for one player. A brother or sister added to the same family is half price. Parents and guardians don't need a plan. A player's access is for that player and can't be shared with other players. When sign-in is available, each player can be signed in on up to three devices at once.
Your plan renews until you cancel. When you buy a monthly or yearly plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method the price shown at checkout today, and again at the start of each month or year, until you cancel. The price and how often you're charged are shown before you pay and in your receipt.
How to cancel. Cancel online anytime: choose "Manage plan" at the bottom of any page, sign in with the email you paid with, and choose Cancel. You can also email hello@knowtheplays.com and we'll cancel it for you. When you cancel, you keep access through the end of the month or year you already paid for, and you aren't charged again.
Refunds. We don't give refunds or credits for part of a month or year, except where the law requires one. If you were charged by mistake, email us and we'll fix it.
Price changes. If we change the price of your plan, we'll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you. You can cancel before it does.
If a payment fails, we may try the payment method again and may pause access until it goes through.
The free week. When we offer a free week, no card is taken and nothing is charged unless you choose to buy a plan.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number. Stripe's own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment.
After you cancel, a player's progress and your own plays are kept for one year, so coming back picks up where the player left off. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
4. Team and club plans
A coach, team, or club can buy a plan that covers every player on a roster. When a team or club plan is in place, the families on that roster don't pay for those players.
Customer listing. If you buy a team or club plan, you grant FalconEyes LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use your team's or club's name and logo to identify you as a customer, on knowtheplays.com and in marketing and sales materials, in any medium. You confirm that you are authorized to grant this license for the team or club. This license never covers any player's name, image, likeness, voice, or data. You may opt out at any time by emailing us; we will stop new uses within 30 days, and we are not required to recall materials already printed or distributed.
Club fundraising. A club may earn a share of what its families pay for their own plans. When a club does, we require the club to tell families so. We never pay a team's own coach for families who sign up.
5. Videos and plays you share with us
Plays are made from a video of a coach drawing and explaining a play. When you share a video, a drawing, or a description of a play with us, you confirm that:
- you made it, or the coach shared it with your team so players could learn the plays, and
- sharing it with us doesn't break a promise you made to anyone or a rule of your team, club, school, or league.
You keep whatever rights you have in what you share. You give us permission to store it, to use people and software (including AI services) to turn it into plays, to show those plays to you and to the people on your team's playbook, and to use it to make the service more accurate. We don't publish a coach's video, and we don't show a team's plays or play names to anyone outside that team, other than the people who build and check them for us, without permission.
If you are a coach and want a video or a play made from it taken down, or you believe something on the service infringes your copyright, email hello@knowtheplays.com with the team and the play. We'll remove it promptly.
6. Team playbooks and reviews
- A team playbook is reached with a code or a link the team shares. Keep it within the team. Anyone who has it can see the team's plays.
- The person who set up a team's playbook, and the team's coach, can change its plays. We may also correct a play to match the coach's video or the coach's review.
- When a coach or a parent reviews a play, the marks, corrections, and notes are saved, used to fix the play, and used to make the service more accurate. Please use players' numbers in notes, not their names.
- When progress sharing is available, a coach can see each player's progress on each play for families who agree to share it, and for every player covered by a team or club plan. A family agrees to that when it joins a team on one. A coach sees nothing else about a player.
7. What the service is, and what it isn't
The coach decides what a play is. We build each play from the coach's video and label what has and hasn't been checked by the coach. A play can still be wrong or out of date. If the app and the coach disagree, the coach is right. Tell us and we'll fix it.
It is not coaching, training, or medical advice. Basketball and other sports carry a risk of injury. Players run what they learn at their own risk and under their coach's and parents' supervision. We are not responsible for what happens in a practice or a game.
8. Using the service fairly
You agree not to:
- share a player's access with other players, or a team's code or link outside the team,
- upload anything you don't have the right to share, or anything unlawful, harassing, or harmful,
- copy, scrape, resell, or reverse engineer the service, or use it to build a competing product,
- try to break, overload, or get around the security of the service.
9. What's ours
The service, including its software, design, play engine, demo plays, and the Know the Plays name and mark, belongs to FalconEyes LLC and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use it under these Terms while your plan or your free access lasts. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
10. Ending or pausing access
You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these Terms or puts the service or other people at risk. If we end a paid plan for a reason other than a broken rule, we'll refund the unused part. We may change or stop offering parts of the service; if we stop the service altogether, we'll refund the unused part of any paid plan.
11. No warranties
We work hard to make the service accurate and reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we don't promise the service will be uninterrupted or free of errors.
12. Limits on what we owe
To the fullest extent the law allows, FalconEyes LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some places don't allow some of these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that the law says can't be limited.
13. If someone makes a claim because of what you did
If someone brings a claim against us because you shared something you didn't have the right to share, or because you broke these Terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from that claim.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we agree to those courts. If you live somewhere whose consumer laws give you rights that can't be waived, you keep them.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is important, we'll tell you on the site or by email before it takes effect, and we'll change the date at the top. A change to your price or your renewal terms follows section 3. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, you accept the new Terms.
16. The rest
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If a court finds part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part of these Terms right away, we haven't given it up. You may not transfer this agreement; we may transfer it as part of a sale or reorganization of the business.
